9月17日 Well it's been some timeWell now, it looks like it has been some time since I have been on to my little site here. Please forgive me, only the matter of changing jobs twice, selling my beloved motorbike and my wedding and honeymoon took precedent. Since all these things have now passed by like the peverbial water under the bridge it has taken for me to fall ill with the flu for me to twiddle my thumbs whilst sleeping/snoozing for me to pop by here.
Thankfully I am now on the tail end of it, although I have been hoping for that to be the case every evening before I go to bed! I hope everyone who passes by is well and happy with what they have. Without sounding like Confusious (whoever it is spelt!) Want what you have, rather than making yourself feel inadeguate in wanting what you do not or cannot have.
Our wedding, incase the thought had passed your way, was the happiest day of my life so far. Neither of us could have asked for any more; the weather was perfect, blue skies, warm but not too hot, light breeze, friends and family attended, all went like clock work and all those employed for the day were making a grand time of it, smiling and laughing away with the rest of the guests. I managed to take video footage of Troy drinking with the lads and breaking out into laughter.
Months have now passed and normality has resumed, nothing changed in circumstance as we already live together - hey you don't know your partner's habits unless you've lived with them for a while! :)
We honeymooned in Dominican Republic which was beautiful. Just don't ask for anything from them, everything is 'tomorrow, tomorrow...' they don't seem to grasp the concept that you only have a set amount of days in their country, so, so long as everything is perfect then you will have the most relaxing time.
Righty I am going to go and rest up some more,
all the best
xx 2月3日 Public Transport:- So what's that then? If you live in England, particularly south east england then you will know what this byline is referring to without even reading a word of this blog. Psychic? No, just sick and tired of our public transport system. Here are common reasons for our train service not running on time, or indeed run at all:
This week i.e yesterday and today the reason selected was number 4. Quite a few inches of snow fell over Sunday night and Monday leaving us without the use of our cars, bikes and even public transport. Now let's state the obvious: the government is trying to get us to use publi transport. Now pray tell me this Mr 'President' of 'Britain' how can we use public transport when - (a) it isn't running at all (b) it cannot cope with rush hour traffic as it stands at the moment (c) so many delays occur unannounced that people would be late for work and therefore receive disciplinaries Lets also not forget the fact that although we are in financial troubles we also have to build and host an amazing olypics, add the fact that English workmen have somehow got to actually finish on time. How will our transport system cope with all these extra bodies when it cannot cope at the moment? Lets move on. Norway, Sweden and other countries such as Canada do get quite nippy and get many feet of snow. They also have nice warm summers. When the weather sneezes their transport system doesn't break down. When the temperatures reach -25 and below, the transport system pays no heed. Why therefore when they have a wider range of temperatures are our politicians saying that we are encountering 'such adverse and extreme conditions' may I ask? Any why, when other countries technologies with coping with all of this is available to see, is our transport system so _____ (fill the blank). Transport leaders and politicians state that we need investment before we can see improvements, now this has been said for many a year and this country is in so much debt it is as long as a time warp from Quantum Leap. Our commuters pay price hikes each January for less trains, trains with less carriages and delays. Pray tell when this investment we have all been paying into will occur? So ladies and gentlemen, this is my argument, and one that I am sure that many of us hold. As like tens of thoudands, and yesterday, millions of workers, I am yet again, unable to go to work to do my job. Many thanks 1月23日 Not Long now until the 'Big Day'Well it's about 14 weeks tomorrow that I say those very famous words, no, not f^*kwit, or f' off, but 'I do'.
Exciting stuff. I appear to be bouncing around everywhere and have this stupid inane grin on my face, and all sorts of wedding paraphenalia keeps popping through the post everyday.
Nerves? Sure, but no doubts, just so excited that after putting vague plans into place almost a year ago now, things seemed to have picked up speed and gone into more detail. If anyone else is organising their own wedding, then the key piece of advice I would offer is to be organised. This prevents those awful problems occuring. Can't quite say that it stops your mother getting on your perverbial, but that, only ductape can solve
These wedding things, very expensive they are, let me tell ya that much. Ours is a very small and subdued affair but those pounds (forget pennies!!) are clocking up. I'm sure it will be a beautiful and wonderful day but most of all, it will be our day made the way we both want. Believe it or not but I think involving the groom more than instructing him to turn up with a suit at a given place and time saying the words 'I do' at the right moment is a good idea. Honestly? Yep, some may not be very helpful, give a blank look or give that 'sigh' but hey- girls- at least you can say that you tried
Well, my only problem is the dress. In short, my mother has sown so many doubts and forced ideas into my head that I'm seriously considering turnig up in my PJs
Hell- at least I'll be confortable!!
xx 11月9日 What's going on here anyways? Alright one and all? Good! Getting a bit nippy now isn't it? I can confirm that since my last blog we've started using the heating now, bugger being cold lol! So what's been happening these last few weeks? A few notable things I'd say; Hamilton scrapes a win for the championship, interesting how he got that, but say no more as the chap deserves it after what I've been told that other drivers have been saying ('I'll do anything possibe to ensure Hamilton doesn't win'....). So nice one young man! The other most notable thing which happened the day after my birthday; Obama won the US election and became the first young and first black president. Out of the two if you look at the majority of opinions, the better and more likable candidate won. The one not resorting to tactics such as blow the other man's policy's down rather than promoting your own policy's. My condolances for his family as his grandmother passed away recently, but not before he had the chance to see her. A similar occurance happened to me on that score, so I can say that it must have meant something to see her that once more before they go. The last, not most notable thing for the world was my birthday on the 4th November. As I said, not important to the world, and due to work being demanding, I almost forgot myself until my mum mentioned that it was my birthday 'sometime soon' and 'which day was it' lol! I've had the last week off work to relax from a frustrating sudden workload and had a relaxing week off. It is indeed typical that the minute you take any time off you fall ill, but in my case a cold is the least of our worries! But still not the best of timing! Saying that, any time off work whether on death's doorstep or not, is not acceptable, so I grudgingly say at least I didn't have to work through my cold So that brings us pretty much up to date in the scheme of things, anything I've missed, then obviously it wasn't that important now was it? lol I'm sure you each have your opinions on the issues I've raised so if you wanted to put a penny for your thoughts then by all means, type away.... xx 10月10日 MotoGPWell what can I say? An interesting result in our last round; the three champions: this years winner, last years winner and the champion prior to that i.e. Rossi, Stoner and Hayden.
And where was my Pedrosa? Well the clever chap decided to come off the track on the second corner of the very first lap. Yep. Great. So my incentive for watching had gone very early on
So the next one is on the 19th in Sepang, Malysia. Let's see how the Repsol man goes. Any idea who his team mate is going to be, as we know Hayden is going to be Stoner's teammate next year. Those two get on if rumours are to be believed
Anyways, all else is well over here. We all know the effects that the banking collapse is having everywhere. I must admit that I mostly place the blame with the origin, as you would naturally. Had banks not made stupid offers to people who patently can't meet their repayments then why offer them a mortgage? This is why thresholds exist. To maintain the system and balance. The property market has been booming for a few years and people had begun making their living by buying an renovating houses. This was obviously not going to last; driving up the housing prices to above prices that first time buyers can not longer afford stagnates the market and chains can no longer cope or move as normal. Never become complacent and assume the markets will always go up. That is not nature: what goes up must come down. This is an old saying and one to understand and use as common sense.
My advice: tighten your belts with small luxuries: that takeaway instead of cooking yourself, make your own lunch for work. Spend money only on essentials and not on CDs, gadgets, books etc. Let the washing be a full load when washing. Reduce your reliance on heating and wear a jumper for the extra hour longer before putting the heating on. We still havn't got the heating on in our house.
Admittedly we are saving that extra bit as we have chosen an unfortunate timing to get married so we are doing everywthing possible including cancelling our DD's for charities. I even did a boot sale the other week. That Tesco slogan comes to mind 'every little helps' believe me when I say it's true.
Once last piece of advice is paramount: Dont panic. Panic buying/selling only worsens the situation, it's like sudden movements on a boat, you just dont do it otherwise everyone will go over. Also try not to let it be the item on the forefront of your mind. We do not have control over the situation and so why worry about what we can't change. When it gets a bit much, have a relaxing shower, or play on the 360, whatever works for you. Personally I find streching and meditation a great help.
I wish everyone the best during these times.
xx 9月22日 Staind & NickelbackMorning all, well, ok it is actually nearer 3:30pm but hey- who's counting and who cares?!
Troy and I went to Wembley last night to see Nickelback, of whom I've wanted to see for a few years now, ever since we were introduced to them via 'How you remind me'. Ever since that song I've worked backwards and listened to Curb and The State and obviously the albums that came later on. Out of all the albums I'd say the raw talent shown in these two early albums are the best. You can imagine the evenings/weekends spent jamming in someone's garage trying out sounds and riffs before taking the jump of going into the sound studios. So basically the music and fun that exists before management and record companies dictate the sound and looks produced.
Moving on to last night; it was great to find out that the support band was in fact Staind, and man did they play. The guitarist was blantly on drugs and in doing so, acting like some heavy metal mental patient. That aside, the band had some cracking tunes and were very entertaining. They're playing in The Astoria in Jan next year and the way they played- I advise everyone to watch them. Cracking stuff.
When Nickelback came on they made an entrance let's say; fireworks, flowing sheets and groovy tunes. Did I mention that they fired T shirts on the crowd and chucked beer on everyone in the mosh pit? No? Well now I did. It was a great night and my only regret is that public transport being what it is that we had to leave early at 10.20
Overall, great night guys. Would see you again next time you are over here, you exciteable creatures! nice drum solo mate, very impressive, and Mr K- cute.
Xx 7月14日 MotoGP Pants is the word I'd use. You ask why? Take a second to sit back and think why I wouldn't be happy with the result on Sunday...: Mr Aussie won, Old man came second and another Aussie third. Followed up by Edwards no? So where was my man hey? Rewind back to the start of the race, who was the top of the tree for about 5 laps? And there would be your answer. I've held Pedrosa as potential Champion for the GP for a couple of years now. Not to win the past two years but because of his ability and need to learn more and experience more. I believe that with some time and patience (yes you do need that Mr P) that he can persevere and steadily win those races; from going from 3rd/4th to 1st and 2nd. Yes Lorenzo has talent but he is busy seeking 'talent' off the track and so distracted, collides with some gravel/tarmac. I think this year, tires wont play so much a crucial part and the riders a much more important part. The one good thing that came out of that race? Pedrosa only lost one spot so now he is second in the Championship. Go on Pedrosa, show them your worth Let the battle commence. 6月20日 Waiting, wishing, worryingOK, now it has been damn long enough in between jobs. I am bored stiff. Truly bored, I've walked up the walls and cleaned my bikes underparts enough times to see my face in them! Getting a job offer from a career position that I could be in for what may be the rest of my life is v lucky and I am very thankful. I know that I can do the job and will be given training which is grand, but knowing I have to wait a full month before starting was almost unbearable. I'm telling ya, I cannot do that housewife stuff, being at home all day everyday drives me nuts. I hear you thinking 'well why dont you get out, go for a ride or go shopping or something??'. The answer to this my friends is quite simple: money/Geld/cash/the grease that makes the world go round. What with everyones's incomes feeling the pinch of higher mortgage repayments, energy bills, food shopping bills and petrol, it's crippling. All the money I had left from my previous job has gone on bills and wedding bits and bobs so my partner and I are having to survive off his income. Hence my friends, trying not to live out of his pocket and going out spending money on petrol, or public transport fares...
A VIP q I have if anyone happens to live near Bexley, Kent, England- then by God help me find a place I can have my wedding reception!! All these places are quoting thousands of pounds just to hire a hall and another thousand plus to have food, bloody crazy!! So for the past four weeks of solid searching I have found one place reasonable but no room for a DJ, so that's not a reception really now is it? So I either badly need to win the lottery (I don't enter it) or just have some poor show
Oh well, enough moaning- I have a roof over my head no? A family, friends and eventually a job, so what the @%*& am I moaning for??!
Xx 6月18日 Work-a-loomingWell I should start work on 1st July, checks pending, so it should be good to get back to the grindstone and use that nugget again :)
So in the meantime, I'm working on the house, wedding plans and cluing myself up on the law again, so when I arrive in work that day I will have the knowledge in my brain ready to access and be built on again, student again: are we ever not a student? Hmm philosophical questions at this time of night??? I think I should go bed before I invent the solution to global warming and other some such bollocks!
Take care everyone, all the best
Xx 6月2日 New Job and organising the big 'W'Its been a little while since finishing working in Mayfair and I have another 2-3 weeks before I start my new job so I'm utilising the time to organise the wedding. Its under 11 months now but I've managed to sort a lot out already, its all go go go
It was my previous Supervisors wedding on Saturday, it was fantastic, great to see all the old crew back together and having a good time. I only hope my big day works out just as good
It's been a while since I've been on here and messenger, but all is good, life is well :)
I hope you are all doing good, take care everyone
XxXx 5月1日 Freedom and Fantastic news!!I have finished working in Mayfair and so am taking a little time out to prepare some plans for...... my up and coming wedding :) Troy and I have decided to do the deed sooner rather than later and will be getting married this time next year :) The church is booked, dress is bought and quotes are on their way. Fab news hey? Exciting stuff, but my mother is already driving everyone round the bend- and we have another year of her?!! lol. Give me some time and I will sort out the guest list properly and I will get in contact with each of ye shortly :D xx 3月10日 Well I am the proud owner of a beautiful bike! I have finally updated my albums to show some select pictures of my recent holiday with my fiancee to Egypt. We went everywhere our budge would take us!; Luxor, Cairo, Hurgada (Red Sea) Giza, Lake Nasser, Eastern Desert, Beginning of the Sahara desert, Karnak and Aswan, just about everywhere save for Sharm El Sheikh but we didn't miss much there. You can see some of the places in the piccies. They are breathtaking, I can hardly believe I have been. I will pop up a piccie of my bikey in a mo so you can 'ooh' and 'ahh' where appropriate! Thanks for your messages everyone, I am not on here very often as you can probably gather by my blogs! So! if you leave a message on one of my blogs I will pop on back to your site and say 'ello! Bring on that nice warm and sunny weather- I am constantly worried my 167kg bike will go over in the storm and winds! I do have to admit two things about my bike; 1. She is damn heavy, 17kg heavier than I first thjought. If, like me, your drive is grass and gravel, then please be prepared and focus on what you are doing. Best to start her up rather than walk her up it, I have found out the hard way as my back is like a plank of wood now. 2. She is has a low top speed. I am too ashamed to say it, but I wont be winning any awards on that front that is for sure!! Anyone have any advie or biking experience that they want to share with me then drop a message and I will be glad to hear from you. All the best everyone! Xx 3月6日 Ms Biker WomanSo ladies and gentlemen I am about to embark on the most expensive purchase in my little life.
Hyosung Comet 2003 bike. A beautiful bike which I will test drive and buy this coming saturday morning. Brum brum brum! I have the majority of the gear already, insurance quote in place so I just need to make that call, the payment and those keys Mr Bat Bikes.
Lovely. Lets hope it is a nice day on sat and not piddling it down!
If you see someone in the kent area with a yellow bike and a pink and grey helmet- cest moi!
Xx 2月27日 Honey- I'm home!Lots and lots of piccies; 620 infact.
We both had a fabulous time. I have to admit that I really didn't liek the people, so much so that I can truly say I never want to go there again.
The sights and history were amazing and worht seeing though. The cruise down the nile was great, the pyramids, Sphinx, Valley of the Kings and Temples were amazing.
I've also found out that since I have been back, the bike I ahve had my eey on has come down to £1500- bargain! Thin I'll be popping down there and putting my money on it after having a test drive and see how she runs. Can't wait!
Our Bonzai is still alive- woo hoo! Our green fingers are obviously showing! We also bought Troy's wedding ring while we were in Egypt. Very nice silver ring :)
That aside, the world is still going round and life is carrying on.
Welcome back hey?!
Xx 1月29日 Biker Chick!!! I passed my CBT!!! Woo hoo!!! Move on over Rossi and Toseland- I'm coming through! lol. Finally took the initial test on the 20th and I passed! I will be looking at getting my new baby when I come back from my Egypt hols. Can't wait! Egypt is only a few days away now, be great to have a hol with Troy again. Pyramids, Sphinx, markets, the lot!! If all goes well then I might even have my own little bikey to go on the Hastings run with. That would be a first to do it as a rider! So excited- what this space as they say! Xx 1月2日 Happy New Year!!!!Just writing to wish you a very happy new year and hoping that you had a wonderful christmas.
My heart is with you if you are or were fallen with the fever that has been going round. I spent my whole holiday that I took off work, looking after my partner while he was very bad with it. I really do sympathise with you as it looks terrible and leaves you bedridden for a week or so. So far I have been lucky but many people I know haven't been so lucky, so all the best to you all, just remember you will get better, it will just take some time (about 2 weeks).
Some good news; I have booked up my CBT having grown tired of my bro's promises. So my lucky day is the 20th January- if you see a small bike with 'L' plates and a rider with a pink and grey helmet- that'll be me!! I absolutely can't wait!!
Also, it is only just over 4 weeks until my partner and I go to Egypt!!! Luxor baby- here we come!! I have all the gear ready- a headscarf, suitcase, long clothes.... One set of injections is done, another lot on the 4th and then the last set on the 18th January. Hepatits A + B, Typhoid, and Tetanus, Polio and Diptheria booster. So I'm sure I will feel like a pin cushion just as I leave, but luckily enough, thanks to it being February, Malayria is not prevelant so we dont need to take those :)
Pyramids, Workers Tombs, the Nile (our hotel is on the banks of it!!) and many more things to come!!
I hope you are all well and having a great time!
Xx 11月2日 General ramblings really...Hey,
All is going well over here, not much been happening, the usual work long hours, stress from work, sleep and eat really, oh yeah and house chores- always hey?!
The house is good, Troy and I are good as are the family and friends so all is groovy I'd say.
The little news there is is that it is my birthday on Sunday. My 24th aww. Still a baby I know, and on the right side of 25! Not much planned, just a pub night on sat and the family thing on Sunday, very boring I know! I already have a pressie from my lovely; a mature Bonzai tree, a Chinese Elm. It is beautiful, I love it. I've always wanted one but never had one so it will be great to see how it grows.
As for you guys- where have you been teh past few months- Witton you have been busy- so what's been going on, sorry to hear about things Mona, but everyone else- get in touch ye nutters!
See ya at the Law Society HQ Mona and Tess!
Xx 10月8日 Plod plod plodding alongEverything is settling down now, well, relatively speaking it is!
The engagement party/house warming went really well, everyone including ourselves had a great time.
I am settled in my job and getting used to the long hours (out at 8am back at 7:30pm).
Casey Stoner won the MotoGP championship, well done and well deserved although it took away the limelight from Capirossi from winning the race. Yamaha once again not up the very top, I'd be more than miffed if I was Rossi, no time to be resigned yet as Pedrosa is hot in his heels.
Toseland just won the WSB championship, the last race I believe is this weekend? but he has won already as well. A good end to his last year in World Superbikes. I can't wait til he races against the likes of Stoner, Rossi and Pedrosa. I am looking forward to 2008 and just hope that Yamaha can pull their fingers out and not blame everything on a 'one tyre rule'.
These are really the only updates in the past lil while. Santana has brought out a new tune with Kroeger, quite a nice tune, but I do prefer the one they did together previously, only I thought it had something slightly more unique about it.
Upcoming events:
I have my post-grad degree ceremony this sat in London, not far from uni, lets hope the weather goes well and that majority of my friends passed to make it there that day.
Note to self: Still owe Feebs a meal... 9月17日 We're engaged!!How happy are we?- that is the question!
On Saturday troy and I went to the Jewellers and bought the ring together, when we went home he then went down on both knees and proposed, how very sweet of him!
We have been talking about getting married for a few months now and so this was a beautiful moment to have. My parents have bought us huge flowers which appear to be taking over our living room!
It has only taken us over eight and a half years of knowing each other, over half that being together to finally get to this stage.
I never used to want the ball and chain- that includes kids, but weird how the right person changes your mind without you realising it ay?
So here we are, engaged to be married... all we are waiting for is my traineeship so we can buy a house and walk down the aisle. I cannot imagine anyone else I could want to be with. Such clarity and absence of doubt is extremely rare, but of this much we are sure. We want to grow old, grey and cranky together standing outside the post office in rush hour on saturday! hooooo yes! lol.
Thanks to all of you who texted and sent their love, we really appreciate it. Feel free to come over on the 29th and celebrate with us in our new home.
I also have two other notes to make;
1. Well done to Rossi for winning the MotoGP yesterday, that was a fantastic race. Unfortuantely I was unable to view the first four laps for trying to get my Spanish cousin off the phone! Every bit that I saw was great racing, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat trying not to shout the house down. Sad to see Stoner have engine troubles but he did damn good to do as he did with a slipping clutch. Braking with just one finger?! Funny. Really great to see Pedrosa finally not let Rossi's tricks unnerve him, this gave the two guys a cat and mouse chase right up until the last second. Gripping TV.
2. My condolences to Colin MacRae's family and friends. A great person has been lost. May he rest in peace. 8月31日 Settling inHey!
We have been in our new place for a week now, how time flies.... Troy has been on the graveyard shift and so we have barely seen each other aside from having dinner together. Next week is worse as we wont get a chance to talk at all, but we knew this awhen we signed up to the lease :(
We have unpacked almost every box and the place felt like home from day one. I have been out battling it with the truely overgrown ivy in the garden and am so far winning, but suffered an injury to my foot in the process. I was biten by a foreign insect that resembled a v small black leech, I had to go to the docs as my foot had then become infected. Now I am on antibotics but can thankfully walk without serious pain :) SO yep, gardening can cause casulties but I was out there again last night, contrary to Troy's wishes, determined that the forest will not get the better of me. The outcome? A vertually ivy free fence and a happy Fi. Our place will look gorgeous, just just us time.
Regarding a house warming, I fully intend to have one to celebrate all the fabulous things in my and Troy's life as of late and will post up the celebration date.
So this weekend I'll be having my darling dad over for Sunday to help out with a rotary line and then settle his feet up on the sofa with a beer and watch the racing- ahhhh. What more could a girl want?!! Fabulous, I cant wait for the banter of me seeing Pedrosa and Stoner right on up there (you will Danny, I'm telling ya!) and Rossi doing a fab job but somehow not making it. I would enjoy a good challenge from them. Sorry to see and hear all the probs Rossi has encountered these past two years and maybe before, I can't remember, but I wish him the best anyway.
OK guys, I am going back to work in a mo as we wont have the net in our house til next week, funny how we do have sky tho ay.... Men (tsk) lol.
Take care guys and all the best!
